Here I am. Okay, so it's not really ME saying "Here I am". But someone is. And that someone isn't just saying it. That someone is coming out. That someone is showing his face, disclosing his identity, not just to his family, but to the whole world, saying... and proudly, at that... "Here I am. I'm living with HIV." It may be someone you know. Or maybe not. But I'm sure you do want to know who the hell it is. I did. So come in closer and watch with me... I don't know Laurindo Garcia personally, but his name rings a bell of Fridae.com fame, for those who don't know. And now, here he is. Here I am. You can find out more about Laurindo and the Here I am Campaign on www.hereiamcampaign.org.

- Yes, I'm gay. I probably was since the day I was born. On my 21st birthday, I sort of had my debut. I came out to my parents. A little drama from mom, and some indifference from dad. An above-average coming out. Almost perfect.
Nine years later, two weeks before my 30th birthday, I found out... I'M HIV POSITIVE.
And so my story begins... I'm BACK IN THE CLOSET.

hello. I just recently knew that i have HIV. i am just a fresh graduate, and i do now know if this will affect my future job prospects. any tips? thank you.
Thanks for your blog, you made a difference today. Keep it up! =)
Hi Anonymous1... A pozzie friend of mine once asked me if I had some job referrals for "people like us".
I was thinking, "Duh, I'm no different from everyone else." He wanted something that wasn't stressful, wasn't tiring, etc. That wouldn't be a job. That'd be a miracle.
Hmmm, for me, as far as jobs are concerned, I don't think there should be any limits.
Okay, except maybe in cases where you would like to work in countries that have HIV tests as a prerequisite.
But otherwise, go pursue whatever job you want. :)
Dear Anonymous2, not sure how I did... but I do hope I made a difference in a good way. :)
Geez, you made me miss blogging. :)
